MY IN-LAW IS A DIABETIC TOO!

The doctor usually asks, "Is someone from your family a diabetic?" Diagnosing where in the world did I get my high-blood sugar level. My simple answer, "No one as I remember. But my in-law is a diabetic too." And my doctor will give me a smile, making it easy for to know that I am really now a walking sugar depot.

Last November 2010, after a major church celebration, my mother-in-law (the diabetic) got a hypoglycemia. She was in slight-comma while standing. No response from her as people, including my wife, talks to her. Checking her vital signs. 5 minutes has passed, my wife is teary eyed, my in-law still not responding. Her eyes were opened but she seems looking afar. Less than 10 minutes, she blinked her eyes! Moved her hands and managed to sit down. Immediately I took test of her sugar level. Regularly, she's more than 400 but on that moment her blood sugar level was 170. Above normal but for her, its below her normal. She didn't bear the abnormality. We prayed and thank the Lord for His immediate work of miracle. My wife gave her a chocolate drink. After some time, she's back to normal. But we had to take her again to her doctor.

Today, though she was diagnosed of a complication with her kidney, she is alive and serving the Lord in spite of her age and being diabetic. She is a diabetic yet committed to serving God and His people. I admire her for that!
